Named one of AARP’s 12 must-see farmers’ market in the United States in 2011, the Green City Market in Lincoln Park is perfect for everyone from culinary chefs to everyday foodies! The market has a large selection of produce, along with chef demonstrations from local restaurants. It is also the only farmers’ market in Chicago to offer free resources and educational outreach about local sustainability and health issues. The Green City Market is open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday until October 31. Only a 4 minute drive from The Belden Stratford!

Produce can inspire a piece of art! Whether you’ll be cooking or painting the food, make sure to check out the Farmers’ Market at the Museum of Contemporary Art located on 220 East Chicago Avenue. The farmers’ market is open every Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The European-style market includes fresh produce, baked goods, cheeses and flowers. Afterwards walk through the museum’s exhibits because admission is free on Tuesday for Illinois residents! Only a 7 minute walk from the State & Chestnut location.

If you’re looking for something more traditional, stop by Chicago’s longest running farmers’ market: The Daley Plaza Farmers’ Market on 50 W Washington St. Take a lunch break and stroll along the plaza’s water fountains and Picasso sculptures while shopping for fresh produce. The market is open on Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. until October 29. A four minute walk from the 215 West Apartments!

Visit the Olde Schaumburg Centre Farmers Market to taste some fresh produce from Chicago land suburbs! In addition to a variety of baked goods, spices, and produce, the market also offers free weekly entertainment between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. The market also has designated themes for each week, such as cultural arts day. The Olde Schaumburg Centre Farmers Market is open every Friday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. until October 30th. Situated in the parking lot of the Town Square Shopping Center at 190 S. Roselle Road, the market is only a 6 minute drive from the Park Meadows location.
