From Thanksgiving feast to holiday festivities, Chicago has an array of events to make the holiday fun. Make this Thanksgiving memorable with these Chicago and suburban events.

Get in a workout before feasting with the 39th annual Turkey Day Run. The run features a 5k, 8k and Plymouth Rock Ramble kids race. The event will feature a Turkey Day Tailgate complete with cornhole, turkey bowling and apple cider refreshments. Proceeds will go to the Greater Chicago Food Depository and is only a 5 minute walk from the Belden Stratford.

Too busy with the turkey to make some pie? Beatrix is offering Thanksgiving pies for pick-up. Pie flavors include Oh My! Caramel pie, handsome chocolate cake, and a twist on the Thanksgiving classic, pumpkin pecan pie. Only a 2 minute walk down Clark Street from AMLI River North, or a 4 minute walk down Grand from the Grand Plaza.

Skip the hassle of preparing Thanksgiving dinner and dine at Cherry Circle Room instead. Thanksgiving day isn’t complete without the Thanksgiving Parade! The parade features Grand Marshal Matt Walsh from “Veep” along with stage performances by Broadway’s STOMP, country music star Craig Campbell, Ringling Brothers and more. The parade will feature a variety of floats, marching bands, and special units such as tumbling teams and the Harlem Globetrotters. The parade is free to the public and runs on State Street from Congress to Randolph. The parade’s finish at Randolph is around the corner from Marquee at Block 37 or a 5 minute walk from 73 East Lake.
