CSN Vice President of Sales Kathy Elmendorf Guest Blogs About Her Favorite Best Local Spot
Jefferson Tap & Grille (325 N. Jefferson St.) is a favorite hangout for me and my husband, just a block from our home. It’s less than a half mile from Presidential Towers in the West Loop, a 4-minute walk from 180 N. Jefferson and a 3-minute walk from the Trio.
The food at Jefferson Tap is excellent; they have a seasonal menu which is now offering comfort food—like pot roast, chicken pot pie and meatloaf—for the cold winter months. The service is just as excellent as the dinner and lunch offerings. The exceptional service can be attributed to the friendly staff that we have come to know since our first visit in 2006.
The main level of the restaurant has no shortage of flat-screen TVs. Also on the walls, to create an even more appropriate game-watching atmosphere, are framed jerseys of players from the Blackhawks to the Cubs. If you’re not the sports-watching type, Jefferson Tap also has a juke box, video games, a pool table, and an upstairs loft that can be reserved for private parties and events.
No matter the occasion, Jefferson Tap provides a very comfortable setting. It’s a great place to go for a great drink and tasty bite to eat with friends or family. Stop by for lunch or make it a late night: Jefferson Tap is open Sun.-Wed. 11am-2am, Thu.-Fri. 11am-4am and Sat. 11am-5am.
