The only scary thing about this time of year in Chicago is having to choose between all of the fun Halloween events. Don’t be scared: No matter which you pick, you can’t go wrong. Costumes, candy, jack-o-lanterns and all the rest this spooky season has to offer await you. We don’t mean to frighten you, but heed our warning: This weekend will be scary good.

Don’t call it Daley Plaza (50 W. Washington St.) this weekend—it’s Franken Plaza. From Oct. 26-30, this downtown spot will transform into a Halloween haven, complete with a stacked lineup of live performances, a “Monster Bash,” hayrides, giveaways, crafting demos, trick-or-treating and more. Just a 5-minute walk from 215 West Apartments.

The Mediterranean spot Nia (803 W. Randolph St.) is offering spooky-themed meal specials and appetizers (like “zombie fingers”) now through Halloween Wednesday. Make sure to dress up—Nia is making every night a costume party, and is giving away a private party for 10 to the guest with the best costume. The Chicago Park Districts have a plethora of family-friendly Halloween events to pack your weekend full of fun. The festivities include outdoor drive-in movies, pumpkin patches, haunted houses, costume contests and plenty more.
