If anyone or anything deserves a super birthday celebration it’s our beautiful city. On Monday, March 4, the city of Chicago turns 176. And, naturally, there are celebratory events all around town taking place to honor the glorious Windy City. This city is one of the things that make our corporate apartments so great—now that’s worth a toast!

The city’s official birthday party will take place on Chicago’s actual birthday, Monday, Mar. 2, at the Chicago History Museum (1601 N. Clark St.) from 10am-1pm. Enjoy musical performances from The Tony Do Rosario Trio, an ensemble from the local Curie High School as well as the American Indian Center as they perform “Happy Birthday” on native drums. Not to mention, Best Local Eli’s Cheesecake will be available too. This bash is about 1.5 miles from Kingsbury Plaza and 400 N. LaSalle in River North.

Celebrate 176 years of Chicago by indulging on some classic city food staples: homemade hot dogs, Italian beef, Polish sausage and more. Get to Haymarket Pub & Brewery (737 W. Randolph St.) this Monday, Mar. 4 at 11am to toast to the town at their Happy Birthday, Chicago event. It’s just a 5-minute walk from 180 N. Jefferson in the West Loop.

Although your corporate apartment may be in the suburbs, a celebratory event is worth the trip downtown. Hop on the Metra train for 40 minutes or less from Elmhurst, Naperville, Des Plaines or our other suburban apartment locations and head to Chicago to toast to the city’s 176 years! A birthday is the perfect time to get downtown and experience our great Windy City.
