With Thanksgiving past, it’s officially holiday season in Chicago! The city turns festive in December with various events showcasing unique gifts, delicious eats and holiday-themed activities. Celebrate the season with these featured events!

Christmas in Chicago means the infamous Christkindlmarket! A staple to the Chicago holiday season for over 20 years, the Christkindlmarket brings German and European tradition to the city’s largest downtown festival. Local vendors feature unique knick knacks and gifts, along with delicious food and drink including stuffed pretzels, schnitzel and craft beers. The festival also features various performances each day from live music to visits from Santa. Stay at Marquee at Block 37 to be in the heart of festivities and beat the rush, or it’s only a 7 minute walk from 73 East Lake or a 9 minute walk from AMLI River North.

Don’t be a Scrooge this season; visit the Goodman Theatre for a special showing of A Christmas Carol. The play by Charles Dickens offers a message of kindness and charity for the season. The play is running through December and features great local actors. Goodman Theatre is located off Dearborn, about a 2 minute walk from Marquee at Block 37!

Enjoy stunning light displays with Zoolights at the Lincoln Park Zoo! The holiday event includes musical light shows illuminating the zoo after dark. Celebrate Hanukkah in Chicago with the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Hanukkah Concert! Surrounded by festive decorations and floral arrangements, the Klezmer kickoff features live music from the Maxwell Street Klezmer band along with brunch at the Garden View Cafe.
