New Year’s Eve is the best excuse you can have to hit the town in style. Don’t let the opportunity to kick back as we close out 2012 pass you by; Chicago has more than enough events happening on Dec. 31 for you to take part in. Get your champagne toast ready!

 

Grammy-nominated reggae artist and Chicago native Rickey Rainbow leads live jazz from 9-11pm for the NYE event at Untitled Supper Club (111 W Kinzie St,). This is one of the oldest jazz clubs in Chicago, and a Gold Coast staple. It’s only a 15-minute walk from 400 N LaSalle.

Snack on appetizers, enjoy live music and toast to the new year with some midnight champagne at the Speakeasy at Porkchop (941 W. Randolph St.). Don’t forget to check out Porkchop’s especially large whiskey selection and tasty, gourmet eats. The bash starts at 9pm, with entry prices starting at $65. It’s just a 10-minute walk from 180 N Jefferson.

Who doesn’t love a good laugh? Celebrate New Year’s with a smile at A Night of Laughs at Laugh Factory (3175 N. Broadway). Catch a show, one at 8pm and another at 10:30pm, featuring Deon Cole from “Conan.” Other headliners include Kyle Scanlan and Clark Jones. Tickets start at just $25. Take a 30-minute ride on the 156 Bus or 8 Bus from Kingsbury Plaza, or a 12-minute ride on the 36 Bus from Belden Stratford.
