Embrace The Month of The Mustache
The premise of Movember is for men to grow out their facial hair—particularly mustaches. But the reason isn’t strictly for the hairy fashion statement. According to the official Movember website, “men raise vital awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives” during this month-long event.
Register now to pledge to take part in fundraising for the global initial and show face at some events around Chicago promoting this month of men’s health awareness. Check it out on Facebook too. Now take your ‘stache to the streets.
LuLuLemon (930 N. Rush St) is treating mo-bros and mo-sistas (that’s what they call the male and female Movember celebrators) to a free yoga session. This class, led by Ann Stahr of Core Power Yoga, will take place Thursday, Nov. 15 from 7-9pm. After class, you’ll get free moustache trims and Foster’s libations sans-cost too. RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org. Just a 13-minute ride on the 22, 156 or 36 buses from 400 N LaSalle.
Take your mustache into the night at the Movember Gala Parté at Excalibur (632 N. Dearborn St.) on Friday, Nov. 30. Mustaches—real and fake—are encouraged at this nighttime cash bar event. This event is Chicago’s official Movember party—each major US city has its own. Just a 12-minute walk from Kingsbury Plaza.
Looking to keep that ‘stache groomed throughout the month? The swanky men’s only salon, HALO [FOR MEN] (938 W. Madison St.), is your place. This Best Local spot has several locations around the city for the dapperest of men to get a shave, trim, buzz, or cut. Just a 10-minute walk from Presidential Towers.
