You may have an extra day off of work, but you’ll still be mighty busy this weekend. There are so many Best Local events happening in Chicago and the suburbs near our corporate housing locations for Memorial Day. Don’t worry; whichever you choose, you can’t go wrong.

Head out to the annual Memorial Day Parade (Jackson and West St.) in Naperville this Monday morning. Join the local community in watching high school and middle school marching bands strut by, plus other parade favorites, including auxiliary teams and cheerleading squads. Just a 9-minute drive from Lincoln at the Parks and Iroquois Club in Naperville!

Bust out the bicycle! Bike the Drive goes down early Sunday. Get a unique view of Lake Shore Drive via bike with post-ride activities happening through noon. It kicks off at Jackson and Columbus, a 15-minute walk from Columbus Plaza in Streeterville!

Catch another suburban street celebration at Lombard’s Memorial Day Parade (St. Charles Rd. and Grace St.) on Monday at noon in Lombard. You’ll witness a wreath-laying ceremony at the Lombard Memorial Marker plus all of the usual parade fun. Lombard Historical Society’s Victorian Cottage Museum (23 W Maple St.) will present actual letters from Lombard residents who have been in combat. Visit the museum on Sunday before the parade! Join both activities just a 12-minute drive from City View at the Highlands in Lombard!
