Spring has arrived! Enjoy the blooming flowers, wildlife and warm weather with a walk in the park for National Take a Walk in the Park Day on Wednesday, March 30th. Get some fresh air and visit any of these beautiful Chicago and suburban locations!

Stroll through Chicago’s “front yard,” Grant Park! Located in the Loop, the park features Buckingham Fountain, Millennium Park and Museum Campus. The park is home to miles of lakeside greenery, gardens, tennis courts and baseball diamonds. The area also features some of Chicago’s biggest events, including Lollapalooza, Taste of Chicago and the start and finish of the Chicago Marathon. Only a 17 minute walk from Columbus Plaza.

For another good park just follow the yellow brick road and visit Oz Park! The park’s unique name and design is to honor Chicago resident Lyman Frank Baum, author of The Wizard of Oz. The park includes sculptures of all the famous characters, including the Tin Man, Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion and Dorothy & Toto. The park also features a beautiful Emerald Garden and friendly Dorothy’s Playground, along with baseball diamonds and soccer fields. Only a 14 minute walk from The Belden Stratford!

Try an urban park! The newly designed Lake Shore East Park is over4.5 acres of outdoor space featuring a toddler playground, water playground, dog park and gardens.  Walking paths also line the perimeter of the park and open playing field. Only a 10 minute walk from 73 East Lake!

The activities are endless at Wilder Park! Located in the center of Elmhurst,  the Wilder Park is home to the Elmhurst Art Museum, the Lizzardo Museum, the Wilder Mansion and the Wilder Park Conservatory. A major renovation in 2011 now features a new kid’s playground, tennis courts and horseshoe pits. Only a 9 minute drive from Elm Creek Apartments!
