The theater features current Hollywood blockbusters and special showings. Only a 16 minute walk from Columbus Plaza or an 11 minute ride on the 29 bus from Grand Plaza.

Named after the famous Chicago film critic Gene Siskel, stop by the Gene Siskel Film Center. Run by the The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Gene Siskel features world cinema in a non-commercialized setting, featuring carefully curated films. The theater aims to enhance education and film studies, and hosts over 1,500 screenings and 100 filmmaker appearances. Check regularly for their variety of runs and limited screenings, located around State St. from Marquee at Block 37 or a 4 minute walk from 73 East Lake!

Catch both popular blockbusters and independent films, along with special children’s movie matinees on weekdays. The theater also features a $5 before 5 p.m. special and a $1 matinee, only an 8 minute ride from Wheaton 121 or Courthouse Square Apartments.
