Skip the Barnes and Nobles and try some underground reads! Quimby’s is an independently owned bookstore that sells independently-published books, comics, periodicals, and zines. Stroll through the kitschy store and peruse local publications, or attend book release events. Only an 11 minute drive from the 400 N. LaSalle location!

Some books are better old than new, like the used books from Myopic Books! With three floors of books and over 80,000 copies, Myopic Books is one of Chicago’s oldest and largest used bookstores. Books include  from architecture and cooking to local history. The store also hosts music and poetry reading series. Only a 14 minute drive from the AMLI River North location.

Family owned and operated since 1982, visit Sandmeyer’s Bookstore in the Loop! This mom and pop shop offer a variety of books in an urban layout. Browse through their hand-picked selection of old classics and new favorites! Only a 5 minute walk from the AMLI 900 location.

Visit Anderson’s Bookshops in Naperville! Named the 2015 Lucille Pannell Award for best children’s bookseller in the nation, Anderson’s specialized not only in children’s books but many more. With events such as bookclubs, book signings, and storytime for kids, Anderson’s will leave you lost in the pages. Anderson’s also sponsors programs such as Turning the Page, Book Angels, and their own program Andrea’s Angels to provide local schools with books for students of all ages.
